They discuss the comics they picked up, the panels Ardo moderated at TCAF and then end the episode with the non-comics/festival books they’ve read so far (not many!).

S2E7 – Put Some Truth On It

This episode was intended for the first week of May but thanks to TCAF, VANcaf and the start of Ramadan, Ardo and Yash were swamped! Have no fear! They’re releasing both May episodes before the month ends starting with this one!

It’s their first host only episode in a while. They discuss book related news for the first 10 minutes which includes brief thoughts on Infinity War and HarperCollins Canada’s Frenzy Presents event. Then they chat about what they’re reading, this year’s Canada Reads and the re-reading experience.

S2E6 – PABOI: Justina Ireland

Ardo and Yash had the privilege of interviewing Justina Ireland who is a young adult author and was an executive co-editor of FIYAH magazine. They spoke to her about her brand new novel, Dread Nation, as well as the impact that editing a black speculative and science fiction magazine has on her views of representation in the publishing industry. It was a blast. They discussed jokes, advice to writers and where zombies came from.

S2E4 – Put Lethal Girls On It

In this episode, Ardo and Yash discuss projects they’re involved in and the #MeToo movement finding itself in the Children’s Lit community. They start talking about what they’ve read at the 33:45 mark which includes some March releases.

Some corrections in the episode: They said Tomi Adeyemi was 23 years old but she’s actually 24 and they speculated that her debut book, Children of Blood and Bone, would be a success and it was! It found itself on the New York Times Bestsellers List.
